Bowel Cancer Guernsey Don't sit on it, sort it! Donate

Ray and Scott has donated £10,000 to Bowel Cancer Guernsey as part of the jewellers’ ‘Diamond Dream’ scheme.

The money will go towards an awareness campaign, to educate islanders about the cancer.

Anne Brouard, chair at Bowel Cancer Guernsey said: ‘We’re so pleased and grateful to Ray and Scott for this donation. At Bowel Cancer Guernsey, we aim to improve the awareness, prevention and diagnosis of bowel cancer in the Bailiwick and this donation enables us to continue to do so.

‘Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in Guernsey, with approximately 40 to 45 new cases each year. But, if detected early enough, over 90% of those diagnosed with early bowel cancer are successfully treated. If anyone notices any new symptoms, I’d encourage you to consult a healthcare professional.’

Martin Search, director at Ray and Scott said: ‘I’m so pleased to be able to donate this money to Bowel Cancer Guernsey. The charity does such amazing things in the local community and it’s great to support them.

‘The Diamond Dream scheme was initially set up in 2022 to celebrate our diamond anniversary. Thanks to the support from our customers, we’ve continued it over the years and have donated more than £200,000 to local charities.’

Ray and Scott customers were given up to 20% off all diamond jewellery, excluding watches, with a minimum of 2.5% being donated to charity. They could then choose to donate more of this money if they wished.

Martin added: ‘We continue to raise funds for charities and apply the Diamond Dream on all our Engagement Rings. We also hold ad-hoc events throughout the year and apply the Diamond Dream to benefit a nominated charity.’
